K9s Only Starts September Off On the Right Paw

Summary: With summer winding down K9s Only announces discounts and several events moving forward.

With fall right around the corner K9s Only has begun to switch gears to continue to provide outstanding service and care to customer and canine alike. One way in which they're doing this is by offering a 50% discount for training evaluations for the month of September. K9s Only training evaluations are designed to examine the dog's personality as well as his relationship with his owner. The objective of the evaluation session is to assess the exact areas the staff has to focus on for the dog's training. The K9s Only evaluation is important in determining a dog's temperament as well as giving the owner a better sense of the different training methods which can be tailored to meet the dog's specific needs. Appointments for training evaluations at both the K9s Only West LA and Tarzana locations can be made over the phone. Half off training evaluations aren't the only deal that K9s Only is running during the month of September. They're also giving a $5 discount on all swim passes. And right now the Swim Pass and Massage combo is only $60, down from the normal price of $80. These discounts are only offered on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday afternoons.

K9s Only a Dog Training Los Angeles is also going to be making an appearance at the upcoming Strut Your Mutt fundraising walk. Strut Your Mutt is a fundraising event created to help animal welfare groups raise the funds needed to save the lives of homeless pets. Strut Your Mutt was started 18 years ago in Salt Lake City because every day more than 9,000 pets are killed in animal shelters across the country, simply because they don't have a home. The upcoming Strut Your Mutt event is taking place on Sunday, September 15th at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, Los Angeles. K9s Only has been encouraging all Los Angelenos to join the walk for homeless pets. They will have a booth at the event, supporting the cause with their “Better Than Biscuits” homemade doggy ice cream. Besides the charity walk, Strut Your Mutt will include pet contests, photos and refreshments for both owners and canines.

K9s Only would also like to announce the return of Sunday Funday, back by popular demand. Sunday Funday is held every Sunday from 9am-2pm. Social dogs are allowed to participate in a variety games and activities which are run by members of the K9s Only training department. K9s Only veteran trainer, Dianna, changes each week's games using a variety of agility equipment and training tools. This allows dogs that regularly participate to build skills they already know, while newcomers can learn new tricks in a positive and controlled environment.

About K9s Only

K9s only was opened in 1990 by Renowned Dog Behaviorist, Bobby Dorafshar. Since that time, they've become a trusted dog grooming, training and daycare center. The company operates out of two locations, their West LA site at 2040 Cotner Ave, Los Angeles, California 90025 (310) 479-5600,  and their Tarzana location.

K9s Only Prepares for Labor Day and Final Summer Sunday Funday Dates

The summer is winding down but the K9s Only a Dog Training Los Angeles Newsletter is still chock full of events and deals that are available at the dog grooming, training and daycare center. Their latest newsletter begins with notices concerning a series of important dates. One of the dates they focused on was Labor Day, since it is one of the busiest holidays for K9s Only. They wanted to stress that dog owners should start reserving rooms soon since they had already begun booking.

The newsletter also focused on the last four dates for Summer Sunday Fundays. Sunday Fundays are events held at the West LA location which are filled with activities and events for dogs and owners alike. They offer fun in the puppy pool and a wide range of challenging games for the dogs to enjoy. These games are run by veteran trainer Dianna Haro, who was K9s Only former tricks class director. She designed the program so that it is not only different from week to week, but focuses on mental challenges which are based on the discipline and mutual respect that K9s Only owner, Bobby Dorafshar has based his practice on. In addition to that, Sunday Funday now has new agility equipment, free Better Than Biscuits Doggy Ice Cream, and a slew of fun games lead by training staff members. Those interested about Sunday Funday, should check out the Sunday Funday Album, which can be found on the West LA Facebook page. The album is filled with pictures from the events and will give dog owners a good idea of what takes place during Sunday Fundays.

Sunday Funday is one of the many things that K9s Only is involved in. They're also a proud supporter of LA Love and Leashes and they accept locations for the organization at both of their locations. Love and Leashes is the world's first non-profit run “pet store.” 100% of its animals are taken from LA city shelters and so far the operation has been a resounding success. They have adopted out 671 animals since only last year. Love and Leashes is located on the first floor of Westside Pavilion and their website can be visited at laloveandleashes.com.

Last month, K9s Only welcomed a new member to their teeth cleaning team, in Dr. Douglas Kramer, and now they're receiving a new face at the Wellness Center. Dani, the new Assistant Swimmer, has been around animals her entire life. She grew up surrounded by dogs since her family began breeding Golden Retrievers when she was in high school. Thanks to her youth, Dani's experience swimming with dogs of all ages, sizes and experience is exceptional. She is also trained in canine CPR and is currently being educated by Wellness Director Yvonne Garst, in all aspects of canine wellness.

K9s Only Announces Upcoming Events and New Staff

In their July newsletter, dog boarding, Dog Training Los Angeles and grooming company, K9s Only announced a (slew) of events and changes coming to both of their locations. One of the biggest changes has been the addition of Dr. Douglas Kramer to their team of dog care specialists. Dr. Kramer will work out of the West LA location, alongside Gena Haba, the resident dental care expert. K9s Only lauded the holistic and comprehensive approach he brings to every treatment and point to it as one of the major reasons they decided to bring him on. Dr. Kramer focuses on educating his clients by involving them in the decision making process regarding their pet's care.

Dr. Kramer's hiring comes hand in hand with K9s Only desire to increase the profile of their wellness center in Tarzana. At the moment, the wellness center is focusing on water safety, since it is a very important issue, especially during this time of the year. Their water safety classes are run by their Wellness Director, Yvonne. It focuses on teaching dogs skills that will help them stay safe and calm while in and around water. All of this is done in the wellness center's heated salt water pool. Yvonne utilizes gentle and positive methods, which allows the dog owner to make a smooth transition to their own pool, while helping their pet stay as safe as possible in a water environment. Besides water safety, the wellness center is also utilized to help dog's manage their weight, or rehab following a surgery.

Finally, the K9s Only Newsletter also touched on an innovative product the company is offering out of their Tarzana and West LA boutiques. It's called the Kool Collar and it is designed to help prevent dogs from overheating and suffering heat strokes. This collar, which is designed for outdoor use, stimulates artificial sweat and promotes cooling. The collars are available in a variety of sizes and colors.

K9s Only Extends West LA Hours and Holds First Sunday Funday

This month, dog boarding, Dog Training Los Angeles and grooming company, K9s Only has released another newsletter detailing new deals and upcoming events.  K9s Only is determined to maintain the momentum the company gathered while moving into spring. This is why the West LA K9s Only location has decided to extend their summertime hours. Now the West LA location will be open on Monday through Friday from 7am-8pm, from 8am-6pm on Saturday, and 9am-2pm on Sunday.

Bobby Dorafshar, K9s Only owner and recognized dog trainer and behaviorist, explained that increasing West LA's hours of operation would help them better meet the needs of their customers and their pets. “We understand that this time of the year can be difficult for dog owners and even harder for their pets. When you factor in vacations and any number of special events, it can really be difficult to be there for your dog. In order to alleviate all of this pressure we decided to extend our hours, so dog owners can have peace of mind and so that dogs can get all of the attention they deserve.”

In addition to extending their hours, the West LA location held their first official Sunday Funday event on June 2nd. During the event, canine guests were treated to new agility equipment, free servings of Better Than Biscuits Doggy Ice Cream and games led by K9s Only training staff.

The newsletter also announced the group classes each K9s Only location would be holding. Both locations will be holding a basic obedience class. West LA will be holding theirs on Saturday, June 1st at 11am and Tarzana's will be on Saturday, June 29th at 4pm. Both classes are open to any social dog that is over 5 months old.

K9s Only Looking Forward to Busy Spring

K9s Only is a Dog Training Los Angeles boarding and grooming business with two locations in California, one in West LA and the other in Tarzana. K9s Only is expecting the upcoming spring to be a busy and exciting time for their company, as well as for all the different breeds and types of dogs they take in everyday. There are a few reasons why they've begun prepping for a busy spring. First of all, as the weather grows warmer many dog owners will start to take advantage of their vacation time. And this means a number of extended stays at K9s Only for their favorite canines.

The second reason is that they've brought back their very popular Daycare Special. The K9s Only Daycare Special is a great way for dog owners to save money on full day care.  The special has been advertised to their newsletter recipients, and contains significant savings just for them. This is great for repeat customers since new dogs will have to be evaluated to see whether or not they're social. The k9s Only newsletter is a must have for customers in the Los Angeles area looking for great opportunities to add excitement to the lives of their canines.

In addition to the Daycare Special, K9s Only is also offering a discount on flea prevention product, Frontline Plus. Any dogs that stay at K9s Only have to be on some type of flea prevention regimen, and now owners can make sure their dogs are protected with only a $20 dollar application fee.

To prepare themselves for the influx of new guests, K9s Only has been hard at work improving the amenities at both their West LA and Tarzana locations. One major change has been the addition of the finest pieces of new doggy playground equipment. These include colorful tunnels, slides and ramps which have given their guests a whole new way to play.

K9s Only Dog Focused Approach Garners Busy Spring

K9s Only, the Dog Training Los Angeles boarding and grooming company has opened up the month of May with a brand new set of deals and another newsletter. The Newsletter, and the deals therein, apply to both K9s Only locations-the one in West LA, as well as their other spot in Tarzana. As expected, this spring has been a busy time for the company. K9s Only owner, Bobby Dorafshar, had this to say about the company's busy spring, “We're really proud that we've had the pleasure of serving as many customers at our two location as we have. We've been able to meet a lot of really nice people and a lot of really great dogs. I think our success comes down to our dedication of treating each and every dog as if it were our own.”

Earlier in the month K9s Only attended the NKLA Adoption Weekend. NKLA is coalition of different organizations passionate about rescuing animals and ensuring that LA becomes a better place for unwanted pets. The NKLA is led by the Best Friends Animal Society and their main goal is to end the killing of healthy and treatable pets staying in LA shelters. To support NKLA's cause, K9s Only set up a booth at the weekend event and offered their special, “Better Than Biscuits – K9s Only Doggie Ice Cream.”

In addition to supporting the NKLA, K9s Only has been helping canines and their owners in other ways. They're running a grooming special (West LA location only) throughout all of May. They are offering half off doggie pedicures, by appointment only, every Thursday for the remainder of this month. The doggie pedicures, which are discounted from $15 down to $7.50, includes nail trimming and filing—as well as a paw massage and a cuticle rub. K9s Only is also urging dog owners to reserve their spots for Memorial Day as soon as possible. Holiday rates will apply for the dates, which run through the entire weekend from May 24th to May 27th.
